General Program This is a 3-year program for students requiring a background in Science with a concentration in Biology. Students must complete 42 credits of Biology, and should communicate with the program advisor concerning required and optional courses. Counselling form (pdf file to be printed out and completed prior to meeting with the program advisor!) First year BIOL 1506*/7, CHMI 1006/7**, MATH 1036***, 1037 or 1057, PHYS 1006 or 1206, PHYS 1007, elective from the Social Sciences or Humanities (6 credits) * Any student with a grade of 80% or better in OAC Biology may request permission from the Department to take one of the following courses in place of BIOL 1506: BIOL 2366, 2376, 2386, 2716, 2727. ** Applicants lacking OAC Chemistry or the equivalent must complete CHMI 1041 prior to taking CHMI 1006/7. *** Applicants lacking a grade of 60% or better in OAC Calculus or the equivalent must complete MATH 1912 prior to taking MATH 1036. Second year BIOL 2376 or 2386, 2716 or 2727, 2356, 2126 or 2366, a BIOL course in the 2000 series (3 credits), CHMI 2426/7, 2227, elective from the Social Sciences or Humanities (6 credits) If one of these Biology courses has already been taken in place of BIOL 1506, it will not count as a second-year credit, and another recommended course must be taken in its place.
